With the majority of fridges selling for $1000-$2500, not including shipping and installation costs, it can be hard to buy a new fridge on a budget. We are optimists, though, and looked into user opinions to find out if it's possible to get a good fridge for under $1000. Admittedly, we were a little skeptical; it goes against common sense that there are any good quality units available at such a (relatively) low price. We figured we would either end up with a long list of mini fridges or a long list of crappy ones. We were pleasantly surprised.
The best cheap fridges (that aren't minis) are a combination of medium and full-sized units. The vast majority have no special features - like ice and water dispensers - but that's understandable. All of them actually have exceptionally high reliability ratings and users report they are very satisfied with these refrigerators. Reportedly, these cheaper fridges are also a great buy for the money, as most have an ENERGY STAR certification that will help you save some cash on your electric bill. How's that for savings?
